Our fearless leader, Ryan Brook, is currently on a one-year sabbatical. At the moment he is running around in Texas learning lots about wild boar control. Texas is completely over-run with the critters, and they have some pretty aggressive tactics to remove them. Night hunting, baited shooting sites, home-made traps - one hunter that Ryan got to know has used deer gut piles, cutoffs, even a dead cow from a neighbor to draw in the pigs. He spends 4+ nights/week sitting out in blinds watching the traps and shooting any animals that escape or don't enter the traps. We sure hope we never get to the numbers of animals they have in Texas - but we sure are gathering some good intel on effective strategies!
